Frequently asked questions
Starting a therapeutic journey can bring up many questions. I've gathered some of the most common inquiries to help you understand my approach and what to expect. The goal is to make your path to improved well-being as clear and comfortable as possible.
What are some of the questions people frequently ask you about your counseling services, your approach, or what to expect?
Do you offer in-person sessions?
At this time, all sessions are conducted virtually through secure Telehealth for clients located in Colorado. Virtual therapy allows many people to attend sessions from the comfort and privacy of their own environment.
What is therapy like?
Therapy is a collaborative process focused on understanding your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a supportive and non-judgmental space. Sessions often involve exploring patterns that may be contributing to stress or difficulty while developing practical tools for navigating challenges more effectively.
How long are sessions?
Most therapy sessions last approximately 53-60 minutes and are typically scheduled on a weekly basis, though frequency can vary depending on your needs and goals.
What issues do you help with?
I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating concerns such as anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Therapy can also support personal growth, self-understanding, and building resilience.
Is there anything important you wish clients knew before their first session or about the counseling process in general?
I am happy to introduce people to therapy for their first time! One important thing to remember is that therapy is a journey, not a quick fix. Progress can be gradual, and there might be ups and downs. It's also a collaborative process; your active participation and openness are key to getting the most out of our sessions. My aim is to equip you with tools and insights to face challenges independently in the future.
What are some common concerns or hesitations people have before starting therapy, and how do you usually address them?
It's completely normal to feel a bit of nervousness when reaching out and beginning the vulnerable process of therapy. Many people have hesitations about opening up or fear being judged. I address these concerns by creating a safe, confidential, and empathetic environment where you can feel heard and understood without judgment. We'll move at your pace, and my priority is building a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences.
